I have been with this surgery for over 6 months. We were allocated this surgery after ours was shut down. I have on-going issues and I was very nervous about being transferred to a new surgery, but I can honestly say that these doctors have been amazing and they continually make sure that they are doing what is best for me. I think these doctors are doing the best they can considering the large influx of patients that theyve had.
Here...take a pill is the default response. Pharmaceutical companies must be making a killing at this practice. I will say though that if you continue to persist and make your own recordings of appointments and treatment offered and then advise you are documenting you tend to get a fresh approach attempted.....strange that. Doctors and all need to move into the modern times and accept that patients are a little more informed now on their own health and with the taxes they are paying they are more than contributing into a system of which we all deserve a better service. Good luck when health monitoring systems really reach further into our homes, however will you cope then with more empowered users...bring on the future as quick as you can I say!
I have been with this surgery for 5 years and have never had any problems getting an appointment when I've needed one. Everyone is very helpful and understanding. It can take ages to get through by telephone but that's true of pretty much every medical service, everywhere.
*Edit* Go to A&E, they may say you're wasting the NHS' money, but this surgery is the real waste of NHS money. *I had an extremely urgent appointment with my GP, even though the urgency of my situation was stressed. They cancelled on me and told me to call back tomorrow morning and wait for 5 hours trying to get through to see if I can rest an appointment.
Always had good service at this practice.....until recently when a couple of other local surgeries closed. Now despite very nice staff and doctors none of them can cope with the tidal wave of new patients.Their latest ideas for coping with the mass of patients they now have is like sticking a plaster on the hull of the Titanic. It must be obvious to the partners that this situation is just not working and that almost without exception their longstanding patients are far from happy.Personally, Im dreading being ill as Im fairly confident that seeing a doctor will be a long and painful procedure.Appreciate that "you can talk to a doctor within minutes" with the Babylon app but if thats what we now have to resort to why do we need the Highlands surgery?
